Please do not share outside of the organization.Your RoleThe Global Head of Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering is responsible for providing resources and technical support for production and sustaining engineering projects. This leader is an integral part of the Delivery Systems and Services (DS&S) business, delivering specialty gas and liquid delivery equipment to a global customer base. This leader will manage engineering staff and have oversight of budgets, project management plans, labor modelling and workload forecasting. The role coordinates lab and site activities, budget, and overall coordination. As the global team leader the incumbent will develop disciplined programs and processes to ensure the robust design of equipment, recommend and implement technical and quality performance parameters, and implement strategies to achieve the desired balance of low cost to serve, asset flexibility, technical risk, equipment certification, EHS and code compliance, and standard of manufacturability (capacity, yield, quality) necessary for the business to meet its profit and growth objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive safety and quality practices in the engineering work and lab environments, particularly focusing on the handling of hazardous gases and chemicals. Implement stringent safety protocols and quality assurance measures to ensure compliance with industry standards, such as SEMI and ISO.Develop and maintain a strong technical knowledge of gas and chemical delivery systems, while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry standards, staying abreast of technological advancements in semiconductor manufacturing.Develop and execute resource plans aligned with workload forecasts in collaboration with Product Engineering and Product Management teams. Ensure optimal allocation of resources for projects involving the design, installation, and maintenance of gas and chemical delivery systems.Utilize both internal engineering resources and external contractors to best fit the strategic needs of projects and customers. Assess and identify the right mix of resources to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency.Provide mentorship, guidance and performance feedback to foster professional growth and high performance for engineering teams located in the US, Korea and Taiwan.Develop and maintain processes and tools to enable efficient technical problem-solving and resource management, focusing on the integration of gas and chemical delivery equipment into semiconductor manufacturing lines.Harmonize Engineering Processes and Practices (where appropriate) across a global Engineering team.Develop and implement strategies for managing the obsolescence of existing gas and chemical delivery equipment sets. Conduct regular assessments of equipment performance and lifecycle status, identifying opportunities for upgrades, replacements, or redesigns to maintain operational effectiveness. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications, coordinating with cross-functional teams to align project goals with business objectives.Develop systems to ensure workload transparency and project execution are evident to stakeholders.Develop and manage the engineering department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for projects involving gas and chemical delivery systems. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and performance standards.Preferred locations Breinigsville, PA, Allentown, PA and Chandler, AZ. Other EMD Electronics locations may also be considered.This position will require travel to various manufacturing sites and customer locations globally. The candidate must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment and capabl of managing multiple priorities.Who You AreMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred8+ years relevant experience including 5+ years of people managementPreferred QualificationsProven experience in engineering roles focused on semiconductor equipment design and installation in accordance with relevant global and regional codes/standards (IECeX, CE, JSA, 29 CFR 1910, EN61000 and 61010, UL 61010, NFPA 70, 79, NEMA, UL121201, SEMI S2, S6, etc.), including experience in executing and maintaining those certification in accordance with NRTLs and other governing bodies.Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse engineering teams.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.Knowledge of safety and quality standards in engineering practices, particularly in the context of hazardous materials.Demonstratable experience in workload forecasting and labor modeling.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with stakeholders.The Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
