The Global IT Operations Engineer is responsible for delivering IT Operations across the firm. Areas of responsibility include IT Infrastructure maintenance, monitoring of systems for capacity and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Ensures monitoring is in place for all IT platforms
- Monitors performance and capacity of environment, appropriately responding to alert notifications and addressing cause of alerts
- Monitors service requests and adheres to posted SLAs
- Monitors, validates, and maintains data protection policies
- Performs maintenance activities identified as needed to support the Firm infrastructure equipment, adhering to guidance provided by vendor support, engineering teams, and architecture teams
- Adheres to Firm established outage procedures to ensure minimum service interruptions for users
- Follows maintenance schedules identified to ensure system uptime and availability
- Maintains good working knowledge of Firm owned application software
- Develops and maintains operational processes needed to ensure repeatable activities are recorded in a centralized repository
- Provides necessary information to teams when presented with audits seeking data
- Adheres to all IT and user quality assurance practices in order to ensure the highest quality of service
- Complies with the IT Departments change request system
- Ensures systems of record are maintained when changes occur in the environment
- Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives
Qualifications:
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
- Cisco CCNA
- ITIL V3 Foundation
- Microsoft Certification related to Microsoft Windows Server
- VMware VCP
Professional Experience:
- Minimum three years experience working in a 24x7x365 Operations Center supporting a global professional services organization, required
- Experience supporting a multi-factor authentication product for use by VPN and remote access technologies
- Experience deploying and decommissioning of data center infrastructure, both physical and virtual
- Experience utilizing an enterprise grade ITSM tool for Incident Management, Change Management, and CMDB
- Experience with enterprise grade monitoring tools capable of generating alert notifications and executing automated actions in response to specific thresholds encountered
- Experience with Wide Area Network technologies (MPLS, Point to Point & Internet)
- Experience with Local Area Network technologies (Ethernet & layer 2 switching)
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell for automation
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technology, preferably VMware
- Strong knowledge of SAN and NAS operation
- Familiarity with Linux
- High level knowledge of load balancing technologies
- High level knowledge of firewall technologies
- High level knowledge of wireless technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Physical Requirements:
- May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
- May require travel to other locations as needed
