The Opportunity: Our client, a prominent player in the scientific instrumentation industry, is in search of a full-time Global Product Portfolio Manager to join their team based in Rhode Island. In this capacity, you will take charge of all aspects of product life cycles, from conceptualization to introduction into the market. Your primary responsibilities will encompass leveraging existing products and conceiving new ones to cater to the unique demands of customers across various industries. This role assumes a pivotal role in product planning and execution. Your duties will encompass the collection and prioritization of product and customer requirements, the refinement and communication of the product roadmap, and close collaboration with our client's global offices, R&D, sales, and marketing teams. What you'll be doing:
- Driving and securing the development, performance, and profitability of an attractive portfolio which reflects market demand and our client's customer needs by industry.
- Developing customer-centric strategies to achieve category growth, increased market share, sales, and profitability.
- Collaborating with the Leadership Team to enhance and execute a global product vision/strategy based on deep customer & market intelligence.
- Leading customer & business intelligence and analytics function (i.e. competitive analysis, market intelligence, demand mapping, customer needs states, customer profiling, etc.) to identify and develop prioritized strategic initiatives, product differentiation and value propositions that inform the overall go to market strategy for each category
- Working cross functionally to turn customer and business intelligence into a go to market strategic approach and partner with local Country Managers to operationalize the roadmap.
- Aligning with customers on key category initiatives and partner on strategic solutions that leverage organizational capabilities to create maximum value.
- Developing key initiatives and programs with quantifiable objectives to measure results - KPIs that reflect customer behavior and intelligence, along with aligning to marketing and sales goals.
- Overseeing sales forecast and lead pricing process across each category.
- Engaging economic/forecasting services to understand macro-economic conditions and guiding future revenue projections.
- Proactively identifying growth/risk opportunities with customers and communicate findings to sales team.
- Project managing new product launches working with both marketing and customer success colleagues.
- Continuously evaluating the competitive landscape to respond to market signals.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A minimum of 7 years experience developing and executing growth plans, and customer insights leading to go-to-marketing strategic initiatives.
- Scientific instrumentation industry experience required.
- Product portfolio life cycle management
- Understanding of business intelligence and analytics tools and methodologies used to identify and assess new growth opportunities.
- Customer-facing sales, analytics, or sales-support experience a plus
