About the role

We are looking to add a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator to our growing Security Department. As a GSOC Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring company security systems, communicating with Security Officers and Specialists in the field, and relaying calls for service to the appropriate agencies or units.

The Security Operations Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. SOC Operators are expected to be available to work all shifts including holidays and weekends if needed.

SOC Operators report to a SOC Lead and serve as a member of the Security Operations Center team. This position supports the needs and activities of the company, supervisors/managers, and other personnel. SOC Operators must also be able to maintain a friendly and helpful attitude while working with fellow employees, contractors, and clients.

This on-site position will directly support our security operations in Corsicana, TX.

Essential Functions

  • Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency phone calls and alarms requesting police, fire, emergency medical, security, or other assistance. Coordinates the assistance of emergency personnel as needed.

  • Classify the nature and determines the priority of calls.

  • Generate alarm reports.

  • Keep and maintain accurate records.

  • Monitor internal and external security systems.

  • Assist emergency service units in the field by securing and verifying information through computers, department files, records, and other available sources of data.

  • Operate two-way radio to relay instructions or information to remote units.

  • Operate recorders, video monitoring displays, computer-aided dispatching equipment/software, and other dispatch-related equipment.

  • May perform the duties of a superior in the absence of this person and with an appointment from the management team.

  • Be confident and make decisions rapidly, accurately, and often with very little information.

  • Participate and provide valuable input at daily briefings.

  • Work areas are shared. Operators must keep the area clear and free of clutter.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

You must also display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as you will interact with a variety of personnel and staff.Please note: Hire for this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a thorough background check, including criminal, motor vehicle, credit and education history, previous work experience/references, and a drug screen.The minimum requirements to become a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator are as follows:
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Able to provide proof that you are eligible to work in the US.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or state ID.
  • Speak, read, and write English. (Spanish preferred)
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple emergency situations.

  • Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1 year of experience in public emergency service field/agency (police, fire, ambulance dispatch), private security, armed forces, IT, or another related field preferred.

  • Associate s degree or Certification in IT, Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, or another related field preferred.
