We are seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) of complex technical solutions. What You Will Be DoingThis person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. Modeling & Simulation Engineer tasks include:•Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture•Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations•Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements•Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities•Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities•Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.The candidate must have experience in weapon system and/or sensor modeling, both for the items to be modeled, and the synthetic modeled environments used to stimulate the simulated hardware. The M&S Engineer must be able to work with subsystem and software engineers to integrate MATLAB models, C++ models, and actual tactical software into the simulations. The M&S Engineer must be proficient in C++ and MATLAB. Learn more here: Global Diversity and Inclusion.Further Information About This Opportunity: Discover more about our Orlando, Florida location.Basic Qualifications•Candidate must have a college degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar. •Willingness to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment.•Candidate must be proficient in C++ and MATLAB•Experience in modeling and simulation of complex weapon systems and/or sensor systems•Candidate must have professionally demonstrated the ability to develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations •Candidate must have professionally demonstrated strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations•Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills.•Must be a U.S. citizen•Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance prior to startDesired skills•Proficiency with Python and Linux•Experience with Agile development•Experience in the development, verification and validation of complex Electro Optical / InfraRed and/or Radio Frequency sensor models•Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses•Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements•Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as GitEEOLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.National Pay StatementPay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $114,100 - $218,600. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
