Job Title: Golf Club General ManagerThe Bridges Golf Club, Located in San Ramon CA. is seeking to fill an immediate vacancy for Golf Club General ManagerJob Summary:The Golf Club General Manager is responsible for the overall financial performance of the Club, leads all aspects of the club including its activities. Contributes and enhances the relationship between Club Members and Guests, Leadership and Employees. In collaboration with the Regional General Manager the General Manager coordinates and administers the Club's policies. The Golf Club General Manager oversees the performance of the entire team and develops operating policies and procedures and leads the work of all department Leaders. This position develops, implements, and monitors the budget; monitors the quality of the Golf Club products and services; and ensures maximum member and guest satisfaction. This individual secures and protects the Club's assets, including facilities and equipment.Duties/Responsibility: (include, but are not limited to):
- The General Manager leads and directs the golf course's overall operation through maintaining quality standards, maximizing profits, developing, and retaining employees and exceeding member and guest expectations.
- Work closely with and meet regularly with the department leaders, club members and its executive management team.
- Work closely with the club's Regional General Manager, Director of Finance, department heads to operate a fiscally sound food and beverage department, golf operation.
- Lead and direct all departments to include golf operations, food and beverage, sales, merchandising, and agronomy.
- Ensures all departments are achieving goals and maintain strong working relationships.
- Partner closely with the Sales and Marketing Director to create and execute programming, marketing plans, sales and pricing strategies.
- Responsible for the selection, development, leadership and retention of talented staff.
- Monitor forecast and results on a daily/weekly basis and adjust as needed to achieve targets.
- Create and execute short term and long term operational and financial plans for the club.
- Coordinates development of operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar.
- Monitors monthly and other financial statements for the Club; takes effective corrective action as required.
- Analyzes financial statements, manages cash flow, and establishes controls to safeguard funds.
- Reviews income and costs relative to goals; takes corrective action, as necessary.
- Ensure proper controls are in place and being followed to accurately track revenues, payroll, inventories and expenses.
- To provide excellent member and guest service.
- Review member feedback and determine appropriate plan of action if appropriate.
- Ensures the Golf Club/ Property are in compliance with all federal, state and local laws Implements general policies established by Regional General Manager and Ownership; directs their administration and execution.
- Establishes a basic personnel policy; initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training and professional development programs.
- Provides advice and recommendations to the Regional General Manager and Director of Finance any alterations, maintenance, materials, supplies, equipment, and services not provided in approved plans and/or budgets.
- Oversees the care and maintenance of Golf Club physical assets and facilities.
- Coordinates the marketing and membership relations programs to promote the Club's services.
- Ensures the highest standards for food, beverage, (Restaurant, Banquet Department and Golf Club services.
- Establishes and monitors compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Works with subordinate department heads to schedule, control costs, supervise and direct the work of all Club employees.
- Attend meetings of the Club's Executive Committee.
- Ensure a Class A experience for both internal and external guests.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; and five years' experience and/or training in Food & Beverages, Hospitality management, Golf Club GM, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A + Vast experience with Large Banquet Events/ Food & Beverages
- CMAA members, PGA members or both is preferred.
Work Availability:
- 8- 10-hour shift
- Day shift, Late Evening shift
- Must be available to work Holidays, Weekends and Night Shifts, according to business needs.
Compensation Package:
- Compensation package; Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
Compensation:
- $ 85K - $90K
