Job Summary:
The Behavior Technician fulfills objectives within the mission of the Golisano Center for Special Needs. Duties includes: Engage in daily meetings with case managers to conceptualize and develop treatment plans, communicate plans to patients and their families, coordinate care with community providers given caregiver consent, communicate plans to team members, supervise and participate in the implementation of treatment plans, manage and graph data, analyze data, identify key variables affecting patient outcomes, measure and track outcomes related to quality improvement, involvement in assistance with daily living tasks while ensuring patient's privacy and dignity are respected, data management, participation and supervision of implementation of behavioral treatment procedures, parent training, teacher and community-provider training, use time efficiently and productively in the absence of specific assigned responsibilities, accept responsibilities and conduct oneself in a professional manner, identify problems and suggest strategies for resolving issues, interact with colleagues in a positive manner appropriate to audience and format, maintain confidentiality in all patient related activities, utilize safe and appropriate handling, and management and guidance procedures when transporting or working with patients. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree (or higher) in Psychology, Education or a related field and one year of related direct patient care experience required. Ability to physically manage patients required. Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and behavioral data
collection software (e.g., BDataPro) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred. Experience with individuals with developmental delays and/or applied behavior analysis preferred. Prior experience working as a Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) at the BBHU preferred.
Enrollment in a master's program for applied behavior analysis preferred.
