Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated Account Manager to join its Government Sales team. The Account Manager will be a motivated individual with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to work with a set of accounts in the government space. The Account Manager is in charge of maintaining and growing revenue associated with established customer contracts. There is a set territory and book of business. Revenue is the main focus of the role, but the Account Manager is in charge of increasing usage, improving funding models and responding to customer inquiries.ResponsibilitiesMaintaining and growing sales within the government space byServing as the primary contract negotiation point-of-contact to expand existing contractsMaintaining the SugarCRM pipeline of opportunities and closing salesProviding accurate forecasting information on expected sales to sales managementExpanding the existing technology list on current contracts and growing contracts to add more technology, training and technical servicesWhen visiting organizations, setting up sales-driven meetings with government prospects as well as with IT/purchasers and decision-makers to drive revenue forwardGrowing usage and relationships with named organizations and users within those organizations byResponding to customer leads and inquiries from these organizationsWorking with users to incorporate our technologyTraveling to each of these named organizations and providing technical talks and meetings with users to build relationshipsServing as the primary liaison at Wolfram for all inquiries by users at the organizations within their territories and ensuring top-quality relationships with timely and quality responsesQualificationsExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsStrong work ethic and the ability to networkAnalytical and presentation skillsStrong attention to detailMoney and success orientedAptitude to learn the software needed to complete daily tasksAbility to work independently and with a teamBachelor's degree is requiredExperience in direct sales is required; experience working with the US government is preferredLocation: Champaign, Illinois, or remoteWolfram is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at its company.
