Description

Responsible for the execution of complex accounting assignments and functions related with government contracts using a broad knowledge of Federal accounting regulations, procedures, policies, and precedents. Discrepancies or risks with compliance are identified and discussed with management and resolved appropriately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide accounting experience by preparing recommendations for financial/accounting processes and solutions.

* Prepare and ensure conceptual, preliminary, and final plans and specifications, parametric through detailed program and project cost estimates by defining the estimates purpose and schedule in accordance with established government and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.

* Continue and maintain rate package compliancy.

* Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.

* Coordinate customer and DCAA audit request.

* Prepare monthly government grant invoicing.

* Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.

* Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information.

* Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes.

* Will work closely with our engineering & estimation teams in partnership and strategic approach.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Experience in Cost Build ups and supplier development funding.

* Strong working knowledge and understanding of FARs regulations.

* Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with accounting software.

* Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization.

* Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.

* Highly detail-oriented and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

* Developing return on investment reports.

* Unallowable/allowable cost.

* Ensures compliance with all government guidelines and standards.

* Prior experience in Government funding project management.

* Familiar with government cost accounting rules & guidelines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college, university or technical school; 3-5 years related experience and/or training in accounting or finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, spreadsheets, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, internal and external clients.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must possess strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude. Requires highly efficient financial knowledge and business acumen.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to make sound business decisions and possess strong problem-solving abilities. Requires analytical knowledge; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
