Reporting to the Director of Government Affairs, the Government Affairs Analyst plays an active role in the administration of IEHP's Government Affairs Program in support of IEHP's strategic policy efforts. Positions in this class research, analyze, compile, and interpret information on proposed and existing local, state, and federal legislation and regulations affecting IEHP. The Government Affairs Analyst is responsible for working in partnership with external stakeholders and internal departments to complete projects and coordinate daily functions as they relate to the Office of Government Affairs.

Education & Requirements

* Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional-level administrative experience with responsibility to analyze and make recommendations to resolve legislative, regulatory, governmental or other similarly complex problems

* Bachelor's degree in Public/Business Administration, Health, Political Science, Public Policy or a relevant field from an accredited institution required

Key Qualifications

* Managed care organization legislative and regulatory experience preferred

* Knowledge of MediCal/Medicare programs

* Understanding of managed care and government-sponsored health care delivery systems

* Knowledge of county, state and federal legislative processes

* Demonstrated knowledge of policy implications and impact of policy decisions on the organization at all levels

* MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

* Superior writing, research, and analytical skills

* Requires strong organizational skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills
