The Conference markets the Pittsburgh region for business investment and job creation while championing public policies to improve its competitiveness. By bringing together more than 300 Regional Investors Council members and leadership from across the region, the organization defines southwestern PA's near- and long-term opportunities and challenges, identifies solutions to capture these opportunities and meet these challenges, and mobilizes the public, private, and non-profit sectors to achieve results. OUR POSITION: The Government Affairs Associate is an entry-level position that will provide essential administrative support to the policy team, ensuring smooth and efficient interactions with policymakers, members, committees, and organizational leadership. The role involves many responsibilities, from coordinating meetings to assisting with policy research and event management. This position reports to the Senior Director of Government Affairs. Requirements: Provide administrative support to the policy team, facilitating productive engagements with elected officials, members, committees, conference leadership, and internal teams. Serve as a liaison between Conference staff, Board members, regional C-level leaders and their staff members in facilitating action and responses to requests. Manage developing, coordinating, and distributing meeting materials, reports, and other outputs for policy-related meetings. Collaborate with internal departments to plan and execute offsite meetings and events, including coordinating invitations, managing event logistics, preparing talking points and agendas, and distributing meeting minutes. Serve as a representative of the policy team and the Conference at events and meetings, ensuring a professional and informed presence. Assist in conducting policy research, preparing briefing reports, drafting letters of support, and contributing to legislative testimony. Monitor, track, and report news and headlines that impact local, state, and federal policies relevant to the organization's objectives. Organize and maintain files, records, and documents, both paper and electronic, to ensure easy access and compliance with organizational protocols. Provide scheduling and travel support, coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements as needed. Manage the schedule of events and fundraising goals for the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (PAC). Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent training/ experience will be considered. Qualifications: Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Experience in event planning and coordination. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. Interest in public policy and political processes. Adaptable to changing priorities and demands. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting public policy initiatives in southwestern Pennsylvania.
