This company is looking for a Sales Manager who will work in their government, military and education sectors. They need someone who will manage and coordinate sales activities at assigned public sector accounts to maximize acquisition, penetration, and retention of business. The region this role will cover will be concentrated in MD, DC, and VA but also covers PA, DE, OH, KY, but there will also be some coverage in the New England States.Your clients will be military, education K-12 and higher education, prisons and other governmental agencies and they are looking for someone who can be both a farmer, but more so a hunter, finding new business.You will get an account package to maintain, penetrate and nurture as well as have an agency list to penetrate and find contacts within but you must have the business savvy, sales acumen, planning skills and hunger to be able to build your own book of business by finding the right contacts to call on and creating your own opportunities.They need someone with strong communication skills, not just in how you speak with people but by being consultative in nature with the ability to listen and learn and ask good questions.They do have a great onboarding process with both foundational sales training and in the field OJT, working with your supervisor and other sales managers to learn the job. You will also be given a self paced on line platform to continue your sales education. You will need to show them you are a life-long learner who wants to continue to grow and develop.Overall travel for this role, including local travel where you will home each night is 50-60%, 70% of that being windshield time and 30% in the air in order to meet with influencers and end-users at each assigned target to identify needs/gaps and develop and present total skin care solutions to meet market needs. Overnight travel, when you need to go to the outer reaches of your territory is about 30-40%, but that is also dependent on where you live. On a day-to-day basis, the position delivers sales and service to large (end-user) account opportunities within the government market and you will need to show you can develop effective sales plans and strategies for your assigned accounts, with emphasis on developing key value-added relationships based on services provided.You must be organized and be able to fully map and prioritize all targeted government hand hygiene opportunities within territory in an effective manner. You will also need to develop constructive, profitable, and cooperative working relationships with relevant contacts, influencers and end-users at each assigned target; and identify new market/segment/product opportunities to the Government Team leadership.Some other keys to being successful in these positions are:- Developing effective sales plans and strategies for assigned markets and accounts- Executing, and tracking the progress of, business strategies for assigned accounts and distributors- Provide business reviews, conducts satisfaction audits, introduces compliance-building tactics, and leverages appropriate resources to maximize compliance within existing accounts- Manage long-term end-user relationships and account development plans- Updating and maintaining assigned account information, records and data- Leverage local government marketing resources to build sales outreach capability and market understanding- Identify and communicate market needs to appropriate internal personnel.- Train and coach the appropriate DSRs to ensure field sales competency within assigned accounts and distributors- Assume responsibility for identifying and pursuing individual training and development in addition to company Professional Effectiveness and IDP development process- Utilize Salesforce.com to keep track of sales activitiesBase salary, $120K - $130K, plus a quarterly commission targeted at 30%, an annual bonus of 8%, they also offer a great benefit package.Join a global leader in healthy skin and healthy places.
