Job Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Health Division Projects to include grant management activities under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. This position is responsible for working with the Health Division Leadership Team to plan, organize, implement and evaluate project status. The Project Manager will communicate with the Chief Executive Officer, Health Division Leadership Team, partnering agencies and evaluators while striving to meet Health Division goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

* Oversite of contractual / construction work and collaboration with the management team to ensure all necessary reporting and documentation is submitted timely.

* Collaborates with management team to ensure all necessary grant reporting and documentation is submitted timely ensuring compliance.

* Utilizes assessment results to carry goals and objectives, inform the planning process, identify desired outcomes and assess resources.

* Oversees day-to-day implementation and monitoring of project and grant compliance while regularly reporting progress to the Chief Executive Officer.

* Responsible for working with regulatory / partner organizations assisting evaluators in the data collection and information related to project outcomes.

* Establishes and oversees administrative procedures to meet grant objectives.

* Prepares and maintains records and reports, such as budgets, personnel records and grant target dates.

* Prepares grant budget and application, reviews applications for funding and process

* Translates program requirements into contract terms.

* Develops or ensures development of grant and agreements requirements containing quantifiable specifications and measurable performance criteria

* Works on behalf of the Health Division to negotiate and clarify contract issues.

* Composes contract wording and calculates contract payment rates and amounts.

* Administers budgets, reporting, and other management requirements with Health Division staff or contractors.

* Performs grant writing tasks upon request of Health Division Leadership Team.

* Reviews plans/agreements, schedules, budgets, progress reports, or other grant/contract monitoring instruments to ensure contract or grant project/program performance

* Leads the implementation of the Health Division strategic plan monitoring progress and outcomes.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)

* Prepare and present reports requested by Chief Executive Officer.

* All other job-related duties as assigned.

CONTACTS:

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, customers, contractors, outside vendors / service providers, Federal, State and Tribal agency representatives, accreditation agencies, hospital and medical field personnel and insurance agencies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position sedentary primarily sitting / lifting of maximum of 10 pounds. Physical factors include constant use of near / midrange / far vision, depth perception, color / field of vision, typing; frequent sitting, use of hearing; occasional standing, walking, carrying / lifting, pushing / pulling, stooping, kneeling reaching, use of smell, and bending. Working conditions are typical medical office / hospital environment. Potential hazards include constant infectious exposure, patient contact, computer use and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, needles/syringes and equipment use.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Public Health Science or Health related field; Five years demonstrated ability in related work experience may be substituted for degree. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in Project Management within the Healthcare field required in addition to above stated education.

Certification/License: Must maintain a good moral character standing. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver's license review and insurability standards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong project management skills a must. Ability with grant writing, coordination and management for compliance adherence is needed. Strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills, problem solving as well as multitasking skills required. Knowledge of HIPAA and Privacy Act required. Must have working knowledge and be able to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software. Must have working knowledge and be able to use office machines, such as calculator, copier, fax, printer and computer. Must have critical thinking skills. Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Must have organizational skills and be able to plan, prioritize and manage workload to meet goals in a timely manner. Must maintain confidentiality. Ability to interpret federal and other funder guideline requirements needed. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public. Must have the ability to respond to difficult and stressful situations in an efficient, effective and positive manner. Native American preferred.
