For more information visit us at: Job Description: We are seeking professionals with experience in the construction industry. A Grade Checker's job is to ensure that heavy equipment operators dig or fill to the correct depth and slope while working on construction projects, typically roadways:Set grade stakes: Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and ratios to set grade stakes that guide equipment operators.Monitor excavation: Watch the excavation process to ensure the operator hits the correct marks.Survey the worksite: Use GPS equipment to ensure the grade matches the original plan.Read and understand drawings: Read construction drawings, specifications, and safety and quality standards.Communicate grade differences: Calculate grade differences and communicate them to the Grading Foreman.Maintain tools and equipment: Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery.Keep the job site clean: Perform job site clean-up and maintain the job site free of hazards.Grade Checkers May Also Be Responsible For:Driving StakesStretching tight lineUsing power tools like bolts, nails, and alignsSignaling operators to adjust machineryGrade checkers may work full-time, Monday to Friday, and may work weekends as needed.
