The State University of New York at Fredonia invites applications for three (3) part-time, FTE 25% Graduate Assistant position in the School of Music. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis in accordance with campus and department budget and policy.

Fredoniais in the midst of a transformation, with a focus on self-examination and reimagination. We seek three (3) part-time Graduate Assistants, represented by GSEU, to join a dynamic, collaborative, and collegial team of faculty and staff. These individuals will help us expand the boundaries of music inhigher education, both innovating within existing contexts and helping us

envision and enact new practices. Successful applicants will be comfortable generating change, taking risks, inventing new opportunities, and exploring new ideas and approaches as we seek to create and promote opportunities for all persons to engage in, around, and through music in ways they find meaningful.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Each GA will be report to a designated supervisor (e.g., dean, department chair, professional staff member) and will be assigned responsibilities totaling 10 hours per week that may include:

* Assisting in scheduling and/or staffing School of Music events in Rosch Recital Hall

* Assisting in scheduling and/or producing live streaming for School of Music events

* Developing and maintaining School of Music social media content

* Collecting, inputting, and editing School of Music event content to the university's Localist system

* Planning and facilitating School of Music audition days and other events

* Knowing, understanding, and following all university policies

* Other duties as assigned

Work responsibilities will reflect approximately 10 hours each week of each semester of the assistantship. This graduate assistantship is offered for the 2024-2025 academic year and may be available for a second year based on the candidate's success with the assistantship and with graduate coursework. Candidates who are selected for and accept the assistantship will receive an annual stipend of $4,239/academic year and a tuition waiver for 9 credits in-state tuition for the academic year as GA.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Enrollment in a School of Music graduate degree program with good standing;

* Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of university and School of Music missions;

* Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills;

* Capacity and willingness to develop proficiency with technologies, tools, and

* Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience capturing and editing live audio and/or video;

* Experience as house manager or usher;

* Previous leadership experience;

* Evidence of community service;

* Experience using instructional, CRM, event scheduling, or other technologies.

Additional Information:

Three (3) part-time, temp appointed, GSEU represented positions beginning Fall 2024.

Visa sponsorship is not available for these positions.
