This position offers the opportunity to work with a competitive NCAA Division II women's volleyball program in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC). The Graduate Assistant will assist in various aspects of the volleyball program, including practice and meet preparation, recruiting, student-athlete retention, NCAA eligibility management, fundraising, public relations, and community service. The position requires a strong commitment to adhering to NCAA and university rules and standards while contributing to the development and success of the program. RequirementsMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain Squad Size: Ensure that the team maintains a minimum event group squad size as established by the university.
  • Practice & Competition Preparation: Organize, prepare, and conduct individual and team practices, training sessions, and competition events.
  • Recruitment & Retention: Assist in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA and university regulations. Educate prospective athletes on NCAA Eligibility Center requirements, university admission standards, and the benefits of becoming part of the Tiffin University volleyball program.
  • Program Coordination: Coordinate equipment, video analysis, and statistical needs. Ensure that all program operations run smoothly.
  • Program Administration: Assist in the overall administration and coordination of the volleyball program, ensuring all operational needs are met.
  • Public Relations & Community Outreach: Represent the volleyball program to various internal and external audiences, including institutional programs, media, government agencies, funding bodies, students, parents, and the general public.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all NCAA and university rules and regulations in all areas of the program, including recruiting and eligibility management.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Perform any other duties related to the volleyball program as assigned by the head coach and athletic department.
  • Driver's License: Maintain a valid driver's license for travel to recruiting events, competitions, and other related activities.
Minor Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills, both within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership both on and off the court.
  • Actively contribute to advancing the goals of the Tiffin University Department of Athletics, including fundraising efforts for the volleyball program.
  • Foster the academic success of student-athletes and support their graduation goals.
  • Knowledge or experience in international, nationwide, or statewide recruiting is preferred but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES FOR THE JOB Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Enrollment in a graduate program at Tiffin University (or willingness to enroll) is required.
Other:
  • College playing experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in coaching, recruitment, or working with collegiate student-athletes is a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to student-athlete success both academically and athletically.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules, regulations, and recruiting procedures is preferred.
