They are not to be considered an exhaustive or all-inclusive listing of the position's duties and tasks, as they may change or be adjusted, as situations require.The Graduate Assistant of Membership & Operations for Campus Recreation will be primarily responsible for the execution of membership services, daily operations of Guest Services, and promotion efforts for the Department of Campus Recreation. This position will serve guests, generate new members and retain existing memberships, and ensure that all student Guest Service Staff have the training, skills, and motivation to do the same. This person will have leadership and supervisory responsibilities primarily for the Department of Campus Recreation. This person will have direct and indirect responsibilities coordinating and executing multiple special events through the fall and spring semesters. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, provide positive leadership, and have the ability to multi-task.
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating Guest Services staff of over 20 undergraduate students who effectively accomplish the goals and objectives for membership recruitment, retention, and usage of Campus Recreation programs and services.
- Coordinate, present, and audit monthly Guest Services/Facility staff in-services with the Coordinator of Facilities.
- Plan and coordinate with the Assistant Director of Operations and Promotions, the membership, and departmental promotional plans.
- Create and coordinate bi-annual Special events for the UNO Wellness Center members.
- Provide professional staff leadership and supervisory responsibilities that may include mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Support high-profile special event programs.
Work Schedule Varies and can include mornings, afternoon and/or evenings as well as potentially weekends. Additional Duties Other duties related to your appointment may be assigned in the course of your employment.Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Admission in good academic standing (not on probation) into UNO Graduate School in a graduate degree program
- 3.0 GPA in LAST 60 hours of undergraduate coursework
- Ability to supervise others and work in a dynamic, changing, and diverse environment
- Customer service, leadership, and organization experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in the field of campus recreation or community recreation programming;
- Customer Service Experience
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
