Our Environmental business group is looking for an Environmental Scientist to join their Natural Resources team! As a graduate with this group, you will be engaged with projects that involve wetland delineations/assessments & permitting, endangered species surveys, water quality assessments, and ecological & environmental studies. These projects support ecological risk assessments, site characterization and remedial action projects on contaminated sites. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
  • Wetland delineation
  • Field surveys for rare, threatened or endangered flora and fauna and their habitats
  • Ecological assessments to classify and map habitat cover types and plant communities
  • Surface water quality monitoring and sampling
  • Sediment sampling
  • Macroinverterate surveys / sampling
  • Fish, reptile and amphibian surveys
  • Managing and evaluating chemical and biological data
  • Evaluating and understanding environmental regulations
  • Preparing work plans, reports and other written communications
What you will bring to the team:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Biology, Ecology or related field of study
  • 0-2 years of experience conducting wetland delineations and ecological field studies
  • Proficiency with managing and evaluating chemical and biological data using spreadsheets or database software
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) applications software
  • Must be physically able to conduct strenuous field studies under field conditions that coincide with survey requirements
  • Able and willing to travel to job sites as necessary
