Position DescriptionThis position providesadvising and student services to incoming and current graduate students in the:SEM MBA and other specialty master's degrees in the Albers School. The GraduateProgram Advisor and Recruiter reports to the Assistant Dean of GraduatePrograms. Position requires some flexibility for evening and occasionalSaturdays as needed for advising and or recruiting events. Advising (50%)
- Provide one-on-one advising for new and current SEM MBA and other Albers graduate degree program students on academic planning, university and program policies, and student progress and achievement of graduation requirements. Prepares student materials and conducts individual new student onboarding appointments as needed.
- Evaluate transcripts of admitted students for eligibility of waivers.
- Provide information to students about the registration process, creates recommended schedules, and sends a quarterly pre-registration email with information about upcoming course offerings to help students prepare for registration.
- Manage quarterly probation letter process for SEM MBA and other Albers graduate degree program students of concern. Counsels students experiencing academic or personal hardships and makes referrals to appropriate campus resources and students support services when necessary. Communicates with students via email, phone, virtual meetings and in person.
Student Services (10%)
- Work closely with various offices at SU including the International Student Center (ISC), English Language Learning Center (ELLC), Registrar's office, and Student-Athletic Support Services offices to assist students in terms of registration, immigration / visa issues, eligibility, and graduation.
- Work with other Albers staff, helps plan the Albers New Student Orientation (fall, winter and spring).
- Maintain student records.
- Represent graduate programs office and assists with school and university wide events such as Grad Open House, Graduate Welcome, and commencement events.
- Update printed materials such as yearly schedules and graduate resources and makes sure they are updated on the web.
Projects (10%)
- Support Assistant Dean with yearly schedule creation and quarterly schedule reviews.
- Collaborate with SEM Program Director regarding yearly schedules and gives operational recommendations for curriculum and or SEM MBA program changes.
- Assist with gathering data, tracking information, and producing reports for the grad program office and SEM Program Director.
- Represent Albers grad programs on various school and university committees. In collaboration with the Grad Programs team, works on other projects as assigned to improve student services and innovate internal processes.
- Provide support and assistance as needed in the department.
- Support program directors and Senior Graduate Recruitment Specialist in recruiting Albers graduate students annually.
Recruitment Strategy (10%)
- Work with program directors and Senior Graduate Recruitment Specialist to maintain and regularly adjust Albers Graduate programs recruitment strategies.
- Utilize Slate reporting and data visualization tools to identify inquiry segment audiences and determine relevant engagement strategies to move all Albers Graduate program inquiries to completed application stage.
- Utilize CRM, website CMS, and other available technology to increase Albers Grad program recruiting efficiency and communication.
Recruitment Meetings and Events (10%)
- Work with the Albers Senior Graduate Recruitment Specialist to cultivate prospective Albers Graduate program student relationships via phone, email and in-person meetings.
- Advise Albers program prospective students on admissions and program requirements.
- Assist with all Albers Graduate Program recruiting information sessions.
Admissions Management (10%)
- Assist with process to complete all Albers Graduate applications.
- Coordinate admissions committee review of completed Graduate Program applications within Slate.
- Collaborate with graduate admissions counselors, Albers staff and all program directors, to move Albers Graduate program applications from incomplete to complete status.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs, all Albers Graduate program directors, the Senior Graduate Recruitment Specialist and faculty regarding Albers Graduate program application review, applicant trends and requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years previous experience with responsibility for program coordination and academic advising, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse and mature student population and with the outside business community.
- Transportation to off-campus events may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business, student development, or education and/or prior work experience in higher education.
