Job Description:

Responsible for responding to inquiries regarding graduate programs in a focused effort to increase student applications and enrollment. Provides professional knowledge and advice regarding admissions requirements, the financial aid and scholarship process, as well as other university processes, policies, and procedures and participates in recruitment events.

Description of Duties

* Responds to prospect inquiries received via email, phone, or other channels providing exceptional customer service.

* Fulfills short- and long-term goals for recruitment and enrollment as set by the Graduate College management team.

* Adheres to a prospect plan that includes goals for number of contacts to be reached and frequency of contacts.

* Maintains current knowledge of graduate programs, policies, and processes and any updates that arise in the Graduate College and university through staff training and through individual efforts.

* Provides support in the application process from receipt of application, decision, orientation, and enrollment of applicants.

* Uses statistical data to identify target recruitment markets.

* Completes weekly and monthly reports on recruitment efforts.

* Interprets and maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures pertaining to admissions, financial aid, & scholarships.

* Collects and analyzes data and develops reports as needed and assigned.

* Researches and resolves complex customer/student questions by demonstrating a high level of proficiency across various software applications such as the Student Information System, and by remaining current on federal, state, and institutional practices and procedures, admissions requirements, and institutional degrees and programs.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received

General supervision from assigned supervisor.

Supervision Given

Direct supervision of assigned staff.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Preferred Education

Master's degree from an accredited University.

Licenses/Certifications

As condition of employment this position requires the applicant to be authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for Official University Business. Per University of Texas System Policy 157, applicants will be subject to a motor vehicle record check for their most recent thirty-six (36) month history. Out of State Drivers are required to submit a 36-month history MVR from their prior State of residence(s).

Required Experience

One (1) year of work experience, including experience in student related programs, recruitment, financial aid, admissions and/or advising.

Preferred Experience

More than two (2) years of experience counseling students in recruitment or admissions in a related area. Call Center experience a plus. Use of CRM systems to recruit students.

Equipment

Use of standard office equipment.

Working Conditions

Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; frequent travel and some evening and weekend work is required.

Other

Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Must enjoy interacting with people. Ability to interpret college/university lingo into everyday language. Must be ready to inspire and motivate the next generation of students to attend UTRGV.
