Summary: Canyon Falls Farm is seeking collaborative and team-oriented Grain Operator who safely performs all phases of grain elevator and drying equipment operation. This full-time role ensures clean and efficient operations while meeting customers' expectations of product timeliness and quality. Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of grain handling processes, equipment, and overall facility operations.
- Timely communicates maintenance needs/modifications of facility equipment to facility manager.
- Performs various repair, maintenance, housekeeping tasks as directed by facility manager
- Recognizes proper equipment operation and takes appropriate action when malfunctions occur. Demonstrates ability to determine causes and initiate appropriate repairs to quickly resume normal operations.
- Operates heavy machinery to assist in grain facility grounds maintenance. This includes, but is not limited to front loaders, dump trucks, back-hoes, water trucks, etc.
- Understands inventory location and associated grade factors. Recognizes and determines grain grade factors. Works with facility manager to reduce quality discounts associated with grade factors.
- Communicate regularly with the grain facility manager to report progress, challenges, and potential improvements.
- Embrace and champion a culture of safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions to guarantee smooth operations with grain facility manager
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 3+ year grain elevator experience. Mechanical skills preferred.
- Valid, in-state driver's license.
- First-Aid and CPR certifications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and trouble-shooting skills
- Work involves but is not limited to occasional lifting up to 70 pounds, bending, carrying, walking, twisting, holding, squeezing, kneeling, sitting, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working at heights, repetitively throughout work period.
