Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Grain Orginator. This individual will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality grain from local producers and suppliers, ensuring the company's supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. The ideal candidate will ahve strong knowledge of agricultural commodities, excellent negotation skills, and the ability tou biuld and maintain relationships with farmers, co-ops, and other stakeholders in the grain industry.

Grain Originator Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure grain from farmers, co-ops, and other local sources. Negotatie contracts and pricing to ensure the company obtains the best possilbe grain at competitive market rates.
  • Develop and maintain strong relatoinships with farmers, grain elevators, and other suppliers to ensure a reliable and consistent grain supply.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regional supply decisions to make informed decisions.
  • Coordinate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure the timely delivery of grain.
  • Negotation purchase agreements, forward contracts, and delivery schedules with grain suppliers.
  • Prepare regular reports on grain market conditions, procurement performance, inventory levels, and pricing trends
  • Address any issues related to grain supply, quality, or delivery, and take appropriate steps to resolve them.

Grain Originator Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grain sourcing, procurement, or commodity buying
  • Experience with grain markets, pricing structures, and contract negotiations
  • Strong understanding of grain market dynamics, agricultural supply chains, and factors that impact grain prices
  • Proficient in analyzing market trends, pricing data, and economic indicators to make informed purchasing decisions
  • High level of attention to detail, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with contracts and regulations
