For 66 years, Little Sisters of the Assumption (LSA) Family Health Service, a community-based nonprofit, has supported thousands of low-income and immigrant families. LSA provides families with the most critical resources they need food, clothing, healthcare, education, a safe home, and advocacy services. We believe by supporting and empowering families, our entire community will thrive.
Location and Time Commitment: The Grant Writing Consultant works independently with no location requirements. The ability to visit our East Harlem location occasionally is ideal, but not required. Strong knowledge of New York City funding opportunities is highly desirable. If the consultant does not have this knowledge, parallel knowledge (working in cities with similar conditions, systems and funders, is required).
We can discuss a range of time commitments. We are looking to a consultant who can commit to this work over the long term.
Overview of deliverables: The Grant Writing Consultant is responsible for scoping, grant writing and reporting in both institutional giving and public revenue arenas. The Grants Writing Consultant will connect to a 4-person development team securing $4m+ annually. The Consultant will help steward and grow relationships with LSA s current institutional and public revenue donors, build new relationships with potential donors, and reactivate lapsed donors to secure five to seven-figure donations for LSA. Significant experience in institutional giving, with a demonstrated ability to meet goals and close on five to seven-figure gifts from foundations, corporations, and/or public revenue sources is essential.
Rate: We prefer consultants who can bill hourly in order to respond to evolving needs. Rates will depend on level of experience.
