The Grants & Contracts Management Senior Analyst will oversee and manage all pre-award activities for assigned principal investigators as part of the COM Grants Management Office (GMO). The GMO submits over 1000 proposals each year to federal, foundation, and industry sponsors.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and preparation of grant proposals in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI).Serve as a resource for team members with proposal development.Contribute to training of new staff.Provide expertise in support of all pre-award activities, including budget creation and review of required administrative components of grant proposal submission.Establish appropriate sub-recipient budgets and documents as needed for grant submissions.Coordinate proposal submissions with the Office of Sponsored Programs.Investigate and evaluate compliance with regulations and guidelines of program funding.Participate in educational onboarding of new PIs and their staff.Utilize knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to research.Research, interpret, and develop written policies and procedures.Contribute to compliance in financial policies and procedures.Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Education Desired:
Certified Research Administrator or Certified Financial Research Administrator certification.
Required Qualifications:
5 years of experience in research administration, including grant and/or contract management.Considerable knowledge of grant & contract regulations.Experience working with federal or private agency sponsors.Experience with all types of NIH award mechanisms.Demonstrated knowledge of NIH federal sponsor regulations.Basic ability to interpret terms and conditions of legal agreements.Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic research administration tools & systems.Familiarity with Workday financials & HR systems.Ability to think strategically and manage multiple tasks effectively.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication skills necessary for intricate job-related processes.Function: Research Administration
