Salary:NegotiableLocation :700 Poplar Street, GAJob Type:Full TimeJob Number:202400157Department:County Manager/Budget & Strategic PlanningOpening Date:10/03/2024Closing Date:ContinuousSummaryThe Grants Coordinator will be primarily responsible for reviewing and submitting grant applications, processing grant invoices, monitoring financial compliance of county funded grants, submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports, and preparing information for grant audits. Work is performed independently under general supervision of the Grants Manager and Director of Budget and Grants.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks with Budget and Strategic Planning and Finance Departments to establish and maintain budget and financial records on each Macon-Bibb County grant. Performs grant financial administration of all grant awards received by federal, state, and local agencies.Serves as a resource for granting agencies and department staff on grant budgeting, accounting, and reporting activity.Assists departments in preparing grant applications and proposals, reviews and submits proposed grant projects.Monitors county's compliance with terms and conditions of each active grant agreement.Works with department staff to ensure effective implementation of each grant.Maintains effective communication with grant program staff to obtain better knowledge of each administered grant.Performs grant-related post-award functions, including monthly and quarterly reimbursements and reconciliations of budget and expense analysis; coordinates grant closeout functions as required, including compliance monitoring, financial status reports, reimbursement requests, purchase order liquidations, and final reporting.Follows established process for the use of funds awarded to ensure the County is in compliance with all funding requirements and guidelines. Coordinates and monitors the County's compliance with requirements applicable to federal, state, and local grant awards. Monitors each grant to ensure expenditure is in accordance with the agreed project with the appropriate budget.Reviews grant financial activity on a routine basis to determine spending patterns and funding availability.Maintains a comprehensive knowledge base of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to grant awards.Attends training to gain better understanding of current grant practices.Assists in providing audit support to the Grants Manager and Director of Budget and Grants on all internal and external audits.Assist with county budget functions as necessary throughout the year.Additional Functions: Performs other related duties as required.Education, Training and ExperienceThe Grants Coordinator should possess, at a minimum, an Associate Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required from an accredited college our university; supplemented by three years of experience in performing grant financial accounting and monitoring duties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the positionNECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIRMENTS:Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator's License.SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND RESPONSIBILITIES:No.TRAVEL:The Grants Coordinator may be required to travel on occasion.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAttention to detail, accuracy, and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.Ability to use computers and other electronic technology to receive, prioritize, organize, and transmit information.Capacity to work in both a group setting and on an individual basis.Skilled in working under pressure to meet deadlines.Must have strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook products.Proficient in effective oral and written communication.Ability to work effectively with members of all levels within and outside of the organization.Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities at one time and consistently achieve results on a timely basis.(ADA) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSLANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and understand written materials.
