Salary: $55,440.24 - $97,796.59 Annually Location : Plantation, FL Job Type: Full time Job Number: 668-01 Department: ADMINISTRATION Opening Date: 11/04/2024 Closing Date: 11/18/2024 4:15 PM Eastern Description This is an exempt position, which is responsible technical and administrative work in coordination of the City's Grant Funding Programs, including coordination of grant related activities across departments, identification of funding opportunities, preparation of grant applications, management of programs to include reporting and closeout. Work is performed under the general direction of the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer with close coordination among all of the City departments. Employees are hired as AT WILL employees that serve at the pleasure of the City and may be terminated at any time with or without cause. Examples of Duties Assist in developing and implementing the City's Grant Funding program; identification of funding programs, preparation of applications, reporting and closeout activities. Coordinates with City departments to identify funding needs across departments. Research, coordinate, prepare, and monitor various grants at the local, state, and federal level as well as private funding opportunities. Prepares studies, projections, maps, reports and makes recommendations for community improvement projects. Assists in identifying needed funding based upon existing inventory and projections. Prepares and submits annual applications, as required. Assists in developing policy statements and maintain public records. Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations. Serves as liaison between civic groups, private and public agencies on grant funding and related issues. Ensures compliance with the City code and procurement policies and procedures by reviewing and monitoring procurements conducted by any designee, department or official. Performs related work as required and as directed. Typical Qualifications Knowledge of the principles, techniques and objectives of identification of funding programs, preparation of applications, follow up reporting and closeout. Knowledge of FEMA and FDEM funding programs and processes. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration. Knowledge of modern information systems, spreadsheets, data base management and software. Knowledge of grant programs in various areas such as Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program, Complete Streets and Other Localized Initiatives Program, Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program, Recreational Trails Program, Assistance to Firefighter Grants, Land Water Conservation Fund, Cultural Facilities Grants,etc. Ability to participate in complex studies, to analyze information and to formulate recommendations. Ability to interpret laws, rules and regulations. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to operate a City vehicle and possess the required license. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees, City officials, state, local and federal agency representatives and the general public. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in City Planning, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field and considerable responsible grant experience.
