Grants CoordinatorExternal postingFull-Time, Temporary, Exempt, Administrative/ProfessionalJOB SUMMARY: Responsible to the Director of Sponsored Programs to develop and manage grants and contract funding, support SVSU faculty and staff to obtain and manage internal and external grant funding/contracts and submit required reports. Assure all proposals, awards, and funded projects conform to federal, state, university, and sponsor guidelines. One-year temporary position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Share funding opportunities with appropriate faculty/staff.Assist faculty/staff to prepare and submit competitive proposals to external funding sources and internal grant competitions.Review proposals and ensure compliance with sponsoring agency and SVSU policies, guidelines, and regulations.Review and process required grant documents, subawards, and contracts.Monitor funded proposals. Work with the PI/Project Director to resolve complex and administrative issues that arise during project operation; review and approve expenditures; monitor and revise project budgets and timelines; prepare and submit required reports to sponsoring agencies.Assist faculty/staff to carry out scope of work of funded proposals to ensure compliance with sponsoring agency, SVSU policies, guidelines, and regulations.Provide administrative support for IRB and IACUC.Maintain required grant-related databases and assist the Director with annual institutional reporting.Attend professional meetings (i.e., NCURA, AUTM, SRA, GRC), earn appropriate certification (i.e., CRA, CIP), and disseminate meeting information to appropriate faculty/staff.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: This position will report to the Director of Sponsored Programs with annual evaluations.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree.Three (3) years of experience in grant writing, grant administration, or a related field.Ability to plan effectively and work under multiple deadlines in a professionally friendly manner.Ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse faculty and staff as well as external organization personnel.Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills.Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups.Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree preferred.Five (5) years of experience in grant writing, grant administration, or a related field.Knowledge of grant/contract policies and procedures, IRB, IACUC in an academic environment.WORKING CONDITIONS:Duties are generally performed inside and not exposed to adverse conditions.Posted through: Open Until FilledApplicants must apply online at jobs.svsu.eduAbout SVSU:Saginaw Valley State University is a comprehensive university with more than 100 programs of study for its roughly 7,000 students.
