Graphic Designer This is a full time position that provides a salary commensurate with experience and outstanding benefits in a truth and grace filled work environment. The Graphic Designer will support the Art Director and Director of Communications and will help to develop and implement design solutions for HPUMC. They will be able to take concepts and ideas and create visual representations in both print and digital platforms. An ability to master typography, layout, and photography will be needed to help the team produce the best work possible. The Graphic Designer demonstrates strong knowledge of branding and design principles, is print and digital-savvy, exhibits great attention to detail, and works well in a team environment. The graphic designer also shows great creativity, initiative, and accountability. The Graphic Designer is responsible for ensuring graphics align with the goals/mission/brand standards of HPUMC. Reports To: Art Director FLSA Status: Exempt Campus: Mockingbird Working Hours: This is a Full-time position working at least 36 hours per week. Anticipated Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5 pm (includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch); Fridays 8 am - Noon. During certain times of the year additional hours may be necessary to meet the job's demands. Additionally, from time to time, the position will be required to work on Sunday morning. All church staff will be asked to support and serve for religious holidays and worship services, including Christmas Eve and Easter. Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with the rest of the Communication team, as well as ministries/departments.
- Design and develop all types of print and digital media, including but not limited to promotional flyers, posters, templates, booklets, ads, banners, brochures, social media graphics, web graphics, and sermon series graphics.
- Support the Communications team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects.
- Effectively combine strategy and insights to develop unique creative solutions for internal ministry objectives across branding and multichannel marketing materials.
- Support visual design development throughout the entire creative lifecycle, from initial explorations through final design deliverables, all in a timely and accurate manner.
- Juggle various projects and handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency-style environment.
- Stay up to date on the latest tools and software to produce the best work possible.
- Ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned projects.
- Help maintain the HPUMC brand identity.
- Manage design library/archival system for graphics.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Duties may be changed and modified at any time.
Education and Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in an art, design, or media-related discipline.
- Excellent typography skills and a keen understanding of branding and design principles.
- Web design and production experience a plus.
- 2-5 years of industry experience.
- The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- The ability to see projects through from inception to production.
- Consistency regardless of project size.
- Knowledge of contemporary design, concept development, and original creativity.
- Accustomed to working in an environment requiring multi-tasking and changing project priorities.
- The motivation to maintain and improve design standards.
- The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve.
- Illustration, animation (After Effects) and photography skills a bonus.

- G Suite (Google, Gmail, Calendar, etc...)
- Adobe Creative Suite
- DLSR cameras
- A strong knowledge of the following tools Adobe Creative Suite programs:
