OverviewThe Graphic Designer is an entry to intermediate level design position responsible for designing a variety of retail marketing pieces, including print and digital advertising, collateral, and in-store displays and signage. This role is focused on print graphic production as well as digital graphic production. The Graphic Designer will provide support to the marketing team and will be a vital partner to the ecommerce team. This position reports to the Creative Director. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail, blended with the ability to produce quality work at a strong pace. It also requires discretion, good judgement, and tact. A focus of the Graphic Designer will be to either work the complete process from concept to completion, or in collaboration with other members of the Marketing Department, the Buying Team, and the Home Office staff. The Graphic Designer must possess a blend of interpersonal skills and technical skill. They must stay up to date with the latest software, always learning new ways to utilize it more efficiently. This role has a focus on the customer experience and professionalism.Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Cavender's Culture and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
- Print graphic production including signage, magazines, billboards, newspaper, e-mail, website and corporate collateral
- Digital graphic production - e-mail, website banner ads, stadium displays, video boards
- Art creation for Cavender's promotional items, logos, product collateral and specialty items
- Produce and export print-ready store signage files
- Proof ads and spreadsheets ensuring correct content and brand aesthetics
- Transform direction and creative ideation into actionable marketing designs
- Place orders with print vendors
- Maintain and adhere to the Cavender's Brand Style Guide to drive brand consistency
- Collaborate with Web, Merchandising, Print, and Retail Design departments
- Special projects as needed
- Consistently meet deadlines, be open to change and take creative direction as necessary
Qualifications and Requirements
- BA in Fine Arts or Graphic Design, or related degree preferred
- 1-3 years of design experience, with portfolio examples
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills and proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible during times of change
- Must be hands-on and capable of independently producing work
- Ability to interpret documents
- Ability to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks
- Ability to understand the meanings of words and effectively respond
- Ability to comprehend complex issues and communicate
- Associate must be able to read and understand English
- Associate must be able to stay alert during work hours assigned
- Based in Tyler, TX at our home office; Tyler area residence

- Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Illustrator, Bridge
- Photo editing - re-touching and composite imaging
- Project management with outside vendors
- Familiar with web page layout and design
- General knowledge of fonts and typography
- Ability to handle confidential or proprietary information with discretion
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once in a fast-moving environment
