The Designer also works alongside the Instructional Designer and the Instructional Design Manager, to design, produce, and facilitate the production needs for the DC3 team. The Graphic Designer will apply art and layout skills to create visually engaging concepts such as logos, communication, and media for use in media assets for the DC3 courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Design original assets for use in animation, motion graphics, and other digital media.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex concepts, visually.
- Build reports, slide decks, and data visualizations that communicate DC3 ideas.
- Collaborate with internal team members to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message.
- Chooses graphics, animation, art, and photography to apply to assigned projects.
- Create original assets and content, including illustrations and motion graphics.
- Revises projects as necessary based on collaborative review.
- Record, photograph, and document events produced by DC3.
- Collaborate with Production Artist Manager, Instructional Designer, and Instructional Design Manager.
- Use creative skills in art and design to communicate a story, message, or idea in support of instructional content delivery.
Other Responsibilities:- Occasional evening or weekend hours.

- Attend meetings to receive leadership development and updates on strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the university.

Education and/or Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art, Graphic Arts or related field
- Three years' experience as a graphic designer
- Two years' experience with interactive design (PDF, ePub, web)
- At least one year experience in a long-format production environment
- An online portfolio or PDF must be submitted for consideration
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Computer/Equipment Skills:- Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite programs (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition and Premiere)
- Proficiency using applications for reporting, file sharing, and communication, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Keynote, Dropbox, and Google Docs
- Creating, editing and presenting multimedia projects
- Sound planning, organization, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio visual equipment
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone.
