The Top Shelf:The Chicago Blackhawks are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Graphic Designer to assist in the design, development, and production of best-in-class creative. The Graphic Designer will support a wide range of initiatives and campaigns, including digital, social and print media, along with helping to execute the creative needs for the organization's brand identity and visual standards. A successful candidate will be an organized, motivated individual who demonstrates a high level of technical ability, strong sense of design principles, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. How You'll Contribute:
- Execute design projects from start to finish, managing asset creation and the production process printed projects.
- Create assets for Blackhawks digital channels, including Blackhawks.com, social media channels, and e-mail/digital marketing.
- Develop branding and custom logo design for internal initiatives and events as well as corporate partner events and programs.
- Contribute to revenue generation and fan engagement by developing unique ads and marketing materials.
- Champion the Company's brand standards - adapting and applying the Blackhawks' brand identity consistently and creatively across all design collateral
- Prepare images for production through color correction and photo retouching techniques
- Assist with the bidding process, selecting commercial printers, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors during production process to ensure timely delivery and quality control
- Conceptualize and build custom creative concepts for sales pitches and client presentations
- Assist on location and in-studio during photo shoots and special events
Player Stats and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of full-time experience in a graphic design role for an entertainment brand, creative agency, or sports team/league.
- Must present a portfolio of works that represents a diverse, creative skill set including:
- Publication layout
- Typography
- Interactive/user interface design
- Identity/logo design
- Photo editing and composition
- Motion Graphics
- Strong sense of design; thorough understanding of design theory including principles such as color, typography, and composition
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design technologies
- Experience in After Effects and use of 3D and text effect plugins for creating presentation graphics, video intros, and web features.
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- Strong ability to multi-task; utilize discretion to decide which projects are most important
- Ability to effectively lead a high volume of projects while managing additional responsibilities as business needs grow or evolve, leveraging strong organizational and time management skills to ensure successful outcomes in a timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills that maintains positive, effective relationships and collaboration across all departments
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights and weekends) to assist in game night coverage or in support of Company events as needed
- Passion for sports and specifically hockey
