Key Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: Create visually compelling designs for a variety of sign and print products, including but not limited to banners, vehicle wraps, posters, trade show displays, business cards, brochures, and window graphics.
- Client Consultation: Work closely with clients (either directly or through sales representatives) to understand their needs, preferences, and branding guidelines.
- Pre-Press Preparation: Prepare artwork for production by ensuring that files are correctly formatted, ensuring color accuracy, appropriate resolution, and proper file types for print.
- Production Collaboration: Collaborate with the production team to ensure design specifications are met and that the final product matches the original vision.
- Brand Consistency: Maintain consistency of the client's brand identity across various materials, ensuring that all designs adhere to brand guidelines and design standards.
- Digital and Print Design: Develop both digital artwork for online applications and physical designs for print production.
- File Management: Organize and maintain design files and archives for future reference or revisions.
- Design Trends: Stay up to date with current design trends, industry technology, and tools to ensure designs are fresh, relevant, and of the highest quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven Experience: experience as a graphic designer, preferably in a sign or print service environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and other relevant design tools. Experience with large format printing and design software (like CorelDRAW) is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, especially when it comes to color, resolution, and design alignment, ensuring the finished product meets the highest standards.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members, understanding client needs and translating them into creative solutions.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address design challenges and find practical solutions for production constraints.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your design skills and experience, particularly in sign and print media.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Signage/Print Production: Prior experience in a sign and print company, particularly with large format printing, vinyl applications, or vehicle wraps, is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of Color Theory: Familiarity with color models, CMYK/RGB, and color calibration for print production.
- Web Design Skills: Knowledge of web design (HTML, CSS, or WordPress) is a plus, but not required.
- 3D Design Experience: Experience with 3D mockups or visualizing complex signage concepts.
