General Purpose:
Performs all work involved in the maintenance of the golf course, to include leading a small crew. Operates all golf course equipment to include skid-loader, trenchers and backhoe for construction projects and loading material for general course maintenance. Operates tractors, mowers and aerifiers, boom sprayers and spreaders for fertilizing fairways and roughs.
Essential Duties:
* Can and will perform all duties of Greenskeeper I and Greenskeeper II.
* Must possess a positive, team attitude and lead by example.
* Possess leadership characteristics of honesty, integrity, commitment, and accountability.
* Possess all the skills and knowledge required to do almost every task on the golf course.
* Operates all equipment that is used in daily course maintenance at a high level.
* Mows greens, tees, aprons and approach areas, fairways, and rough areas; operates other equipment as directed.
* Operates sod cutter, may assist in the fertilization of greens, tees, fairways, roughs and related areas.
* Installs detailed irrigation and drainage systems as directed, understanding the principles and procedures of installation.
* Ability to use and understand the operation of a transit, level or other device used to construct proper grades and/or layout.
* Uses loaders to remove/load dirt, debris and other materials and refuse.
* Operates equipment safely and be aware of other associates in work area.
* Oversee/train other maintenance associates while performing duties that include operation of equipment. Ensures safety of the associate and proper operation of equipment.
* Maintains gasoline or diesel, oil and other equipment fluid levels daily.
* Reports equipment problems and failures to mechanic or supervisor immediately.
* Returns equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility as directed by the mechanic or supervisor, properly cleaned and serviced.
* Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
* Regular and reliable attendance.
* Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
Six months to one season of related experience and/or training.
Physical Demands:
Regularly stands, walks, sits, and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly talks or hears. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds; up to 50 pounds with assistance.
Environment/Noise:
Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) as well in areas with moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally works in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration.
Occasionally may work in high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
Certificates/Licenses:
Valid Driver's License

Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
Weekend work is expected
Varying shifts (e.g. split shifts) are to be expected
