The Greenskeeper is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
* Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
* Must possess the ability to design, coordinate and maintain landscaping on the golf course
* Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course maintenance
* Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
* Must be dependable
Responsibilities:
* Performs general landscape maintenance using hand held equipment
* Rakes and maintains sand bunkers
* Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing.
* Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material
* Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up).
* Assists with golf course set-up procedures
* Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
* Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris.
* Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.)
* Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas
* Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas
* Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
* Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary
* Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
* Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
* Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
* Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Minimum Qualifications for the Greenskeeper:
* One month related experience or training.
* Must have a valid driver's license.
