Position SummaryResponsible for maintaining the reservation book, taking reservations over the phone, and obtaining reservations from the telephone voice mail. Ensures excellent guest service.Engagement Expectations:We believe that team member engagement is the basis for a great culture and superior guest service. During every interaction, we display three behaviors:* Smile, display energy and open body language* Proactively greet team members and guests, initiating interaction to provide service* Always use a positive parting remark to end the conversationEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:* Answers phones, the phone should not ring more than three times.* Greets all guests entering Martorano's and bids guest farewell and thanks them for choosing Martorano's.* Shows the guest, at a comfortable pace WITH them, to their table.* Pulls out chairs, starting with women first.* Gives a quality assurance, for example Enjoy your dinner. * Introduces server when seating guest.* Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting with the proper verbiage: Good morning, afternoon, or evening, thank you, ma'am or sir, may I? * Informs the server of special requests, celebrations or time constraints, using approved methods.* Follows approved check transfer policy.* Performs opening and closing procedures as defined.* Provides the kitchen and management with a breakdown of large parties throughout the meal period as necessary.* Performs any mailing, posting, mailing list, and projects given them by the manager on duty as time permits.* Pays particular attention to all tables which will be seated, making sure that the table is properly set before seating.* Ensures that all menus and wine lists are in good shape, wiped and presentable to the guest.* Posting daily floor plans.* Stocking supplies (ie: matches, business cards, toothpicks, etc)* Adheres to proper sanitation procedures.* Maintains cleanliness, stocking, sale and appearance of retail items and restaurant entrance.* Maintains Martorano's uniform in good condition and reports to work in authorized uniform as mandated by Martorano's. This includes maintaining a clean and well groomed appearance in compliance with Martorano's dress code standards* All other duties as assigned.Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)* 1 year of experience in a bar, lounge, or full service restaurant.* Excellent communication skills.* Ability to perform basic math.* Being able to effectively maintain working relationships with staff and other departments.* Full knowledge and understanding of Martorano's rules, policies and procedures.* Must possess the disposition to have fun at work and display that spirit to our guests.
