We're looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our company as a Grinder in the Fabrication department.   • Inspect machinery and parts to ensure that they remain compliant with specifications to reduce any malfunctions and associated loss of production.
  • Ensure grinding wheels are dressed according to specifications so that the machines remain at peak working capability.
  • Provide quality control by inspecting parts and removing any defective pieces.
  • Operate machinery, including polishing and grinding equipment, to grind any metal parts to their prescribed specifications to ensure high-quality products.
  • Finish products by hand using hand tools to ensure the surfaces are filed or finished accordingly.
  • Keep all equipment running by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning, and scheduling repairs when needed.
  • Raise quality issues to the next level if quality is compromised
  • Ability to understand print notes, apply notes and dimensions to the forming of a part.
  • Following instructions for scanning jobs in and out correctly, logging and identifying parts prior to leaving the area.
  • Responsible for checking the end product to ensure it meets customer specifications and SPM quality standards.
  • Ensure to follow all SPM safety procedures associated with operating machinery, plant requirements and other safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 yrs of Grind experience
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Demonstrated competency in basic math
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, and/or push up to 50lbs
