Position Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinder Polisher I to join our team at Vollrath in Newport. MN. The Grinder Polisher will be responsible for finishing and polishing stainless steel and other material surfaces to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. This role requires precision, an understanding of various grinding and polishing techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Essential Job Responsibilities Finishing
- Operate grinding and polishing tools, including belt sanders, disc grinders, and finishing tools
- Grinding and polishing stainless steel welds back to a #4 stainless steel finish
- Inspect parts for defects or irregularities, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications
Documentation
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task
Other
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work closely with other team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
- Lifting weight requirements: 15-50lbs
Qualifications
- High School, GED, or equivalent diploma or education completed
- 1+ years of related experience
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience in custom manufacturing site preferred
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to use polishing equipment such as hand tools and power tools
