Position Summary Assist all production employees as assigned by supervisor. Responsible for general plant housekeeping. *Primary Duties *Responsible for the general plant housekeeping.Responsible for cutting all bands and wires.Assist the quilt and Grinder Operators as neededClean the entire grinding room (i.e. under the grinders) as needed.Keep pallets awaiting disposal organized.Clean around trash compactor and wire disposal dumpster as needed.Perform all duties to maintain quality of processed foam.Assist in the removing of the banding and wire that is used to bale the scrap.Ensures all scrap foam is free of foreign substances, such as metal, wood, plastics, etc., prior to processing.Adhere to the Leggett and Platt safety, environmental and conduct Policies.Has the authority to perform the following:Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities related to product, process and/or the system.Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system.Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels;Verify the implementation of solutions.Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been correctedOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain cleanliness and housekeeping in all aisle ways in the production areasManagement may assign other duties not covered in this description.Must be able to be a member of a confined space team.Working ConditionsNormal industrial exposure to dust and debris.Above average noise level requiring hearing protection.Frequent overtime is required.Physical DemandsHeavy lifting required.* STANDARD SAFE WORK PRACTICESMachine is only to be operated by authorized and trained personnel. *Never operate machine with missing or defective guards or emergency devices.
