JOB FUNCTION:As a Grocery Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our grocery department. Your expertise in stocking shelves, assisting customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and contributing to a positive shopping experience for our customers is essential in helping us maintain our reputation for exceptional customer service.Prospective employees should be outgoing, friendly, hard-working, dependable and a team player.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide outstanding customer serviceClean and sanitize dailyCashier duties include checking out customers and operating a POS (Point of Sale) systemUnload product off of the truck to be stocked on shelvesStock shelves with products for customers to purchaseProperly price and display product signsSack groceries and provide to your car carry out serviceRecord and report accurate inventory countsAssist all customers in their shoppingPotential to perform E-Commerce Duties, such as picking customer orders correctly, bagging the orders, and taking orders to customer vehiclesOther duties as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 14 years old or olderMust be able to work Saturdays and some eveningsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work with othersGood interpersonal skillsGood verbal communication skillsBasic math skills are requiredPrevious experience in the grocery business or a related field is helpful but not requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS:On feet up to 8+ hours per dayRepetitive lifting, reaching, grasping, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, squattingFrequently lift 0-20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 poundsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Exposure to varying temperatures and inclement weatherBENEFITS:Sundays OffPaid HolidaysPaid Time OffFlexible SchedulingEmployee DiscountWeekly PayOn-the-job, paid trainingCasual Uniforms (Retail)*EOEFareway Stores, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
