SUMMARY
Individual performs various duties within an asphalt plant to ensure operations run smoothly. Maintains excellent housekeeping around the plant by shoveling, performs repairs as needed to plant equipment and performs preventative maintenance in order to keep the plant running.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist the plant foreperson with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
* Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs. This includes working from elevated positions using proper fall protection.
* Perform welding and fabrication duties as required.
* Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
* Ability to follow directions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
* Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
* Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
* Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
* Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual.
* Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
