Overview:
Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district and other duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the Maintenance Department.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas driver's license
Landscape Irrigator's License
Technical school or course credits in arboriculture, horticultural and/or floriculture desirable but not required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read architectural and engineered drawings, specifications and diagrams
Ability to measure and perform mathematical computations
Ability to design, install and maintain complete lawn/landscape irrigation systems
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to operate and use a wide variety of equipment, including hand and power tools.
Ability to work independently and with other district maintenance personnel.
Extensive knowledge in the use of equipment, materials, methods, plantings, practices and procedures associated with landscaping and irrigation.
Experience:
Five years in large multi facility grounds, landscaping and irrigation maintenance is preferred.
Salary:
Minimum $20.63 per hour
Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
