Position: Grounds Worker
Supervisor: Grounds Supervisor/Plant Operations Supervisor
General Job Description: Perform skills in the development, maintenance and cleaning of yards and grounds. Perform repairs of sprinkler systems, fences, playground equipment and sports equipment as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Keep grass mowed, bushes trimmed, etc.
* Plant as needed
* Install and maintain outside equipment such as playground, sports fields
* Paint parking lots
* Keep exterior of building clean and free of trash, snow, rubbish
* Install and keep sprinkler systems maintained
* Perform fence repairs as needed
* Report needs for more extensive repairs
* Weed exterior of buildings and grounds if needed
* Keep adequate supplies available
* Do concrete work for sidewalks
* Trouble shooting of systems
* Maintain tools and other equipment
* Deliver custodial supplies
* Other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, 4 years experience in grounds and maintenance work preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the job and access the environment for which you are hired. Sitting, walking, reaching, kneeling, crawling, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 100 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, may be required.
Equipment/Technology Handled: Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all equipment necessary for the job.
Work Environment: Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. After hour work may be required.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district. This position is contracted for 246 days per year.
