Primary Purpose:
Performs maintenance activities on parks grounds, building, recreational and athletic facilities and small equipment in accordance with established procedures for proper maintenance of equipment, departmental operation and safety.
Education/Certification:
Clear and valid Texas driver's license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions
Ability to communicate effectively with others
General knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in the trade
Mechanical aptitude
Experience:
Prefer 2 years' experience in landscaping, lawncare, and other agricultural work at a golf course
Experience in operating zero-turn mowers and tractors pulling mowers that are PTO driven
Prefer experience in managing pond algae
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
* Performs landscape maintenance involving mowing, raking, planting, trimming trees, grass and weeds
* Mow fairway, greens, and rough areas using specific techniques common to golf course care and upkeep
* Safely operate lawn and turf maintenance equipment
* Maintain, clean and store assigned equipment according to established policies and procedures.
* Dig and/or fill holes using shovels or other lawn care equipment
* Assists in leveling out tee boxes
* Assists in spreading fertilizer
* Assists in repairs of irrigation systems
* Assists in golf cart maintenance including, flat tire repair and battery maintenance
* General upkeep of the maintenance barn
