Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Groundskeeper on the Dahlonega campus. The Groundskeeper is responsible for landscape work in a University environment.
Responsibilities
* Physically demanding manual labor consisting of lawn, flower and shrub care.
* Digging, spraying, edging and power tool operation.
* Other duties as assigned, including building or property maintenance support as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Ability to operate power tools, basic and mid-sized landscape machinery and equipment.
* Must be able to perform preventive maintenance and minor corrective maintenance on equipment and tools.
* Must be able to operate crew truck transporting crew to various job sites.
* Must be able to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction and assist with planning.
* Must have the ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, often in adverse weather conditions.
* Must be able to work at heights up to 40 feet, execute work requiring bending and reaching overhead, lift up to 50 pounds, and climbing ladders of varying sizes.
* Follow safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
Required Qualifications
* Valid state driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
* Grounds/landscaping experience preferred.
