Location: Kent Campus HospitalStatus: Full Time 80 HoursShift: DaysSALARY RANGE: 16.49 - 23.37HOURLYGeneral Summary:The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the grounds at various Bayhealth premises. Cuts and maintains lawns, rakes and maintains leaves, and cares for plants, flowers, trees and shrubs. Determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas. Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons. Responsible for snow removal. Maintains and repairs the irrigation systems. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within landscaping field. Works under immediate supervision.Responsibilities:1. Ensure building exterior is properly and aesthetically preserved and maintained. Maintain the turf, trees, shrubbery and planting beds located on all Bayhealth properties. 2. Maintain safe exterior walking surfaces throughout all seasons, to include trash pickup and snow removal. 3. Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of all grounds equipment, ensuring gardening and snow removal equipment are in a constant ready condition.4. Ensure safe work practices by performing daily tasks as safely as possible, wears proper PPE and performs lockout/tagout where required.5. Operates and maintains the irrigation systems to ensure adequate moisture for lawns and plantings. Sets and maintains automatic irrigation systems, to include winterizing systems and starting them up in the spring. Repairs broken pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment. Replaces sprinkler heads. 6. ) Must have the ability to distinguish between different cleaning materials, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, with the ability to read and understand label information and apply.7. Operate and maintain vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, snow blowers, ATV's, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.8. Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, benches, picnic tables, sign posts, repair pot-holes in asphalt/concrete, using hand and power tools.9. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other ground features.10. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED;
• Credential(s): Driver LicenseDriving Record Required.;
• Experience: Required: Two years experience in grounds and equipment maintenance. Preferred: Five years progressive experience in grounds landscaping and equipment maintenance/repair.
