Overview
What you will have an opportunity to do:
As part of the Property Operations team, the Groundskeepers are responsible for performing the manual tasks associated with the maintenance, construction, and improvement of the resort grounds. This includes the operation of a wide variety of power equipment. Your Role:
* Operate powered equipment for mowing resort lawn areas in a safe and efficient manner.
* Water and fertilize lawn areas as necessary.
* Grade and prepare soil plant beds, lays sod, and plants vegetative material.
* Plant and maintain annual and perennial flowers and ornamental plants in plant beds and planters throughout resort.
* Perform a variety of labor duties including, but not limited to:
String trimming, edging, pruning, raking, shoveling in a safe and efficient manner.
* Operate mechanical loaders in moving soil, debris, and other materials.
* Responsible for snow and ice removal throughout the resort's grounds including:
outdoor sidewalks, walkways, patios, entranceways, driveways, and parking lots.
* Responsible for outdoor trash removal from canisters located throughout the grounds, as well as loose trash pick-up, i.e debris in bushes, debris on lawn, discarded cigarette butts.
* Assist with installation of promotional, seasonal and holiday decorations throughout inside and outside of resort.
* Assist in moving furniture and equipment related to resort operations.
* May assist with minor service repairs to equipment.
* Report any and all abnormalities on the resort grounds such as damage, disease, insects, debris, etc. to leadership.
* Responsible for department and equipment cleanliness, safety and appearance. Your Environment:
Works in all outdoor areas of the property, some indoor projects. Indoors areas are generally controlled temperatures, outdoors is varied all four-season weather conditions and temperatures. Variety of surfaces and terrain.
Qualifications
What are we looking for? The right person will demonstrate a willingness to work hard, tend to issues quickly and have excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. In addition, the right candidate match should have or be able to:
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* 1-year grounds or landscaping experience preferred.
* Previous experience with a variety of lawn and landscape equipment preferred.
* Must be able to work at various heights on ladders, and various terrain.
* Someone who is available to work various shifts to include weekends and holidays
* Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, twist, reach, push/pull throughout duration of shift.
* Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
