Posting DetailsPosition Information Position Title Groundskeeper Part-time Department Grounds & Operations FLSA Non-Exempt Job Summary The part-time groundskeeper performs maintenance and upkeep of university grounds, landscaping, parking lots, streets, and athletic fields.Essential Job Duties Job duties include:
- Assists with the maintenance of university grounds, parking lots, streets, and athletic fields by mowing, landscaping, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, and patching with the aid of grounds maintenance equipment; including tractors, backhoes, skid loaders, dump trucks, and snow removal equipment; and picks up trash on grounds and streets and empties exterior campus waste receptacles.
- Picks up trash on grounds and streets; and empties exterior campus waste receptacles.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; and grounds keeping experience.
- Experience driving large equipment.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of standard maintenance requirements for commercial passenger vehicles
- Ability to maintain confidential information with tact and discretion
- Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with students and University personnel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, administration and the general public
- Demonstrated ability to safely drive a commercial passenger bus
Physical Demands Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
