Job DescriptionThe Group Controller role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to lead the Controllership, Insurance Accounting, AO Accounting, and Non-AO Accounting Centers of Excellence, driving impactful change and innovation within the organization. This high-level position will be pivotal in ensuring the timely and precise completion of monthly/quarterly financial close processes and related projects, making a substantial contribution to the Company's strategic financial objectives. We're open to candidates working remotely in the United States with a preference of Texas. Your focus
  • Drive enhanced efficiency across the financial reporting value chain, streamlining processes up to the parent company, iA Financial Group.
  • Spearhead transformative change initiatives and process enhancements within Accounting, reducing reliance on manual methods.
  • Ensure seamless compliance with all monthly, quarterly, and annual iA submission deadlines year-round.
  • Develop and implement strategic KPIs and metrics to optimize the performance of the team.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A department to provide insights into actual financial results and budget variances.
  • Lead comprehensive monthly/quarterly financial reporting reviews with Company and iA management.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance to uphold operational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate seamless collaboration with auditors, both internal and external, ensuring timely and comprehensive responses to requests.
  • Coordinate with iA corporate accounting department personnel on strategic projects and company results.
  • Drive the retention and recruitment of high-caliber staff in the F&A leadership.
  • Mentor and empower F&A teams to foster collaboration and deepen their understanding of insurance and automotive F&I products accounting.
  • Provide strategic guidance to F&A team leadership, ensuring alignment with key priorities and deliverables.
Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree and/or CPA is preferred.
  • 10 years of accounting leadership experience.
  • A background in insurance or the automotive service contract industry is preferred.
  • Diverse Finance leadership roles, driving and implementing accounting and operational processes and controls.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and the ability to adapt to new software systems.
  • Significant experience in general management.
  • Experience in making decisions based on business metrics.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Inspirational leadership style and hands-on approach.
