Job Description:
Seeking a talented Group Controller to partner with leadership and drive operational and financial performance within a successful and growing manufacturing business.This person manages the accounting team and provides financial and operational analyses that support decision making and influence business outcomes. The Group Controller will champion best practices and elevate the accounting teams with hands-on mentoring and development at two sites in Ohio.Responsibilities include:
  • Act as a key partner to leadership team by analyzing and synthesizing enterprise-level financial and operational performance to inform business decisions. Provide financial analysis and decision support for growth initiatives, supply chain activities, capital investments and initiatives, etc.
  • Engage with site teams to develop and implement world-class financial processes, including reporting and FP&A activities.
  • Translate performance data into key financial and operational priorities that center on driving complexity reduction (80/20) and profitable growth across the Group. Build influence with stakeholders to drive implementation and appropriate resource allocation.
  • Own and drive key financial planning and reporting cycles, including annual budget and monthly reporting processes.
  • Plan, manage, and execute the various functions of the accounting department to provide accurate and timely financial information in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
  • Oversee the month-end close/consolidation process, including the recording of journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and calculating various balance sheet reserves.
  • Manage overall working capital requirements, including processes relating to medical billing, A/R, A/P, and cash forecasting. Prepare monthly analysis on changes in accounts and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Maintain the ERP financial reporting system to meet the needs of management and other reporting requirements.
  • Identify business and/or operational issues that affect the company's accounts and effectiveness, identify system and process improvement opportunities, and develop/implement solutions.
  • Foster an environment that creates best practices, processes, and systems and challenges the status quo. Mentor and lead team members through best-in-class performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance degree required; MBA and/or certification(s) a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing sector Accounting/Finance spanning general and cost accounting, financial analysis and FP&A, department leadership, P&L analysis, and continuous process improvement required. Medical billing exposure a plus.
  • Background in complexity reduction (80/20) efforts a plus.
  • Strong data analytics skills, advanced Excel utilization, ERP system migration/improvement and use, and familiarity with data analysis platforms.
  • Agile learner with a highly analytical mindset, strong technical finance skills and process orientation, and solid business acumen. Logical, data-driven problem solver who can successfully navigate ambiguity.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and create strong influence beyond the Finance function.
  • Confident and self-aware with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong orientation towards results and a resilient work ethic with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternative approaches.
  • Hands-on leader with a concerted focus toward teaching and developing others.
