We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team as a Group Facilitator. This role requires expertise in the nature of alcoholism and drug addiction, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the Primary Therapist and Clinical Director to deliver high-quality treatment services and client care. The Group Facilitator will play a key role in conducting group psychotherapy sessions, documenting client progress, and contributing to the overall treatment process.

Education and Experience:
  • Certification: CADC preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years as a group facilitator in Substance Abuse and Mental Health settings
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in human services field required; Masters degree preferred
  • Licensure: LMHC, LCSW, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of full-time employment in human services or behavioral health sciences
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with State guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and 12 Step Recovery programs
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Group Therapy: Utilize knowledge and skills to provide group psychotherapy, meeting patients' treatment needs.
  • Documentation: Document client progress or regression in a clear, concise, and timely manner, according to established policies and procedures.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Share pertinent patient information with the clinical team based on evaluations and group session interactions to assist in the treatment process.
  • Communication: Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in educational courses and in-service training as per policies and procedures.
  • Adaptability: Respond positively to changing situations in the work setting.
  • Teamwork: Work as a team member, demonstrating maturity under stress and objectivity.
  • Professionalism: Perform in a professional manner and role model a positive image of mental health and substance use treatment.
  • Safety: Work in a safety-conscious manner, ensuring safe work practices to avoid risks to self or clients.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Clinical Oversight: Meet regularly with the Clinical Director to identify and correct problem areas or improve services.
  • Time Management: Demonstrate effective time management skills, including the timely completion of group notes.
  • Patient Rights: Report any abuse of patients' rights immediately.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Clinical Groups: Lead clinical groups using CBT, DBT, psychotherapy, and other proven clinical modalities.
  • Counseling: Counsel clients or patients in group sessions to assist with overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Crisis Management: De-escalate AMA (Against Medical Advice) situations and other patient problems.
  • Documentation: Document all activities in the patient medical record and file notes daily for UR (Utilization Review) purposes.
  • Resource Management: Maintain an inventory of AA/NA literature and patient orientation manuals, distributing them to all patients.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend daily staff meetings to enhance communication with clinical staff regarding program and patient issues.
